In April I was in Dubai on my business. My stay at the Meridien Hotel was paid through a local Travel Agency by myself.
Well, nice hotel but this is what stroke me later:
At the reception I was asked to fill in a blank and after my return home I received a plastic card saying that I became the member of their priority club. I enter the web-site of Meridien and compare the price I can pay for a room as a member of their club with the price I spent at the local travel agency.
Through the web-site I can book much cheaper.
It really pleases.
But a thought does not leave my mind: What do the top-managers of Meridien think about?
Supposing they want more people to book the hotel directly with them. But the local Travel Agency suffers a lot from this.
This agency sends a person only once – next time this tourist books the hotel on his own.
That means that the travel agency would prefer to work with the hotels, ruled by smarter managers. And this results in the fact that the tourist, who has never been at Meridien hotels will never manage to stay there, at least through a local Travel Company.
The tourist will be simply offered another hotel!
Halloo – probably I will be hired by a big corporation as the topper manager - for the business development :)
But I will thoroughly think over the idea of becoming another screw of those monsters that suppress the clever but plain people!
